Janmashthami Festival At Nathdwara & Kankroli –
Janmashthami Festival is the birth day of Lord Krishna. It is observed on the Ashtami of the Shravan month according to the Hindu calendar. Janmashtami Festival celebrated very well in Shrinathiji Temple at Nathdwara and Dwarkadhish temple at Kankroli in Rajsamand. Raslila is performed at temples .
On the day of Janmasthami priests of dwarikadish and shrinathji Special make up of their deity, they used to decorate specially for lord Krishna .The deity dress with a gorgeous suit specially designed for the occasion of Janmasthami.In front of the main ditty, a small ‘jhula’ decorate with flowers on which a small idol of ‘Ladoo Gopal’ sit .
On the occasion of janmastmi Festival they decorate the both temples with colours and lights. Shobha Yatra and Jhankis [Really] are also done with lot of peoples .
youth celebrate it by breaking clay pots called ‘Dahi-Handi’. filled with curd and butter suspended high above the ground, young men and children form human pyramid to reach the pot and break it. The most devotees the main event of the day is to take darshan of Lord Krishna in the temple .
