Bangles are basically a type of bracelet having no clasp or closure. It is worn elegantly as a bunch or even singly. Traditionally, specifically in India, a bangle is the sign of a married woman who wears a bangle made out of silver, gold or glass considering it a symbol of well-being of her husband and or sons.

Present day modern young girls wear a variety of bangles more so as a fashion statement and flaunt it in as much style as their mothers and grandmothers wore as a part of Indian rituals and tradition.

Another factor that adds up to the cost of the metal is the artifacts or the work done further on the metal.
